How to configure email clients for your hosted email Thunderbird

Here are the steps to configure Thunderbird for your hosted email with dotCanada.com:

Open Thunderbird and go to the "Tools" menu, then select "Account Settings".

Click "Account Actions" at the bottom, then select "Add Mail Account".

Enter your details: • Your name (as you want it displayed) • Your full email address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com) • Your email password

Click "Continue" and Thunderbird will attempt to auto-configure based on your email address. If this fails, click "Manual config" and enter the following settings:
Incoming Server Settings:
• Server Type: IMAP
• Server Hostname: mail.dotcanada.com
• Port: 993
• SSL: SSL/TLS
• Authentication: Normal Password
Outgoing Server Settings:
• Server Hostname: mail.dotcanada.com
• Port: 587
• SSL: STARTTLS
• Authentication: Normal Password

Click "Re-test" to verify the settings, then "Done".

Your dotCanada.com hosted email is now set up in Thunderbird!

Some additional tips:
• Use IMAP rather than POP3 to keep your email synced across devices
• Enable 2-factor authentication with dotCanada.com for added security
• Set up email filters and labels to organize your inbox
