How to configure email clients for your hosted email Outlook
Here are the steps to configure Microsoft Outlook for your hosted email with dotCanada.com:
Open Outlook and go to File > Info > Add Account.
Enter your full email address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com) and click Connect.
Outlook will try to automatically configure your account. If prompted for more settings: • For incoming mail server, enter: mail.yourdomain.com • For outgoing (SMTP) server, enter: mail.yourdomain.com • Check the box for "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"
Enter your full email address as the Username and your email password.
Click Next and Outlook should successfully configure your dotCanada.com hosted email account.
For best results with dotCanada.com email hosting, we recommend the following Outlook settings:
• Use IMAP for syncing email, contacts, calendars across devices
• Enable Send/Receive Groups to control how frequently Outlook checks for new mail
• Configure Send/Receive Settings to check for new messages every 30 minutes
