The File Manager in cPanel allows you to easily upload files and manage the content on your website hosted with dotCanada.com. Follow these steps to upload files:
Log into your cPanel account
Scroll down to the "Files" section and click on the "File Manager" icon
This will open the File Manager interface. On the left side, you'll see a directory tree showing all the folders and files for your website.
Navigate to the folder/directory where you want to upload the new file(s) by double-clicking on the folder names.
Once in the desired directory, there are two ways to upload files:
Upload via Drag & Drop
• Simply drag the file(s) from your computer and drop them into the right pane of the File Manager window.
Upload via the Top Menu
• Click the "Upload" button/icon at the top
• This will open a new window to browse and select the file(s) on your local computer
• Select the file(s) and click "Open"
• The upload will begin
You can monitor the upload progress in the bottom left corner of the File Manager.
Once uploaded, the new file(s) will appear in the right pane file/directory listing.
A Few Tips:
• You can upload multiple files at once using either method
• For larger files/uploads, use the "Upload" button rather than drag & drop
• Supported file types include HTML, images, PDFs, compressed files and more
• File Manager shows file sizes, modification times etc for easy management
